Home of the world-renowned and legendary painter Juan Luna, Badoc is the first town in Ilocos Norte when you enter the province from the south. Badoc was established as a pueblo (town) in 1714 by the Augustinian friars. It has a geographical area of 76.68 km2 (29.6 sq mi) , with a population of 30,063. There are 31 baranggays in all, and the people’s main source of income comes from agriculture and fishing. Badoc is part of the Kraft Eden Cheese Keso De Gallo- aiming to be the longest Christmas celebration in the world! December of last year, Kraft Eden made the celebration of Misa de Gallo more memorable by going to nine different cities from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, in nine different churches with nine carefully selected Filipino recipes for nine mornings.

This year, they’re making it even more special by inviting a hundred towns to participate in this season of giving and merrymaking. With 100 towns participating, 100 unique dishes will be showcased for 100 days to underscore the festive celebration of the season here in the Philippines. Being the world’s first longest Christmas celebration, this event pushes food tourism to a whole new level.
