As early as July, the team behind the staging of San Miguel Beer’s Oktoberfest announced this year’s line-up of festivities for the country’s biggest and much-anticipated annual beer event. The Oktoberfest season officially starts with the celebration of the San Miguel Beermen victory party held last July 24th at the SMC Head Office Complex in Mandaluyong City, a timely occasion to welcome Oktoberfest’s winning line-up of activities for the year.
Described as “an Oktoberfest like no other”, this event’s goal is to bring the occasion “right at the footsteps of the Filipino people.” To make the celebration grander this year, San Miguel will be offering consumers nine brands to choose from and enjoy: San Miguel Pale Pilsen, San Miguel Premium All-Malt Beer, San Miguel Super Dry, Cerveza Negra, San Mig Strong Ice, Red Horse Beer, San Mig Light, Gold Eagle Beer and the limited edition Oktoberfest Brew.
This year’s Oktoberfest is made even bigger and more exciting with millions of cash prizes up for grab for San Miguel Beer fans.
For the first time, Oktoberfest will be culminating in the form of a game show where viewers can drink San Miguel Beer and win cash prizes. The TV game show entitled “The San Miguel Beer Barkada Challenge” will be part of GMA network’s primetime evening shows to reach more TV viewers nationwide. The show will run starting October 5 (Monday to Friday) and will be hosted by famous comedian and new San Miguel Pale Pilsen endorser Michael V. On top of that, get to see your favourite San Miguel Beermen along with our celebrity endorsers like Manny Pacquiao, Derek Ramsay, Efren Bata Reyes, Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes to name a few to complete the fun equation.
Thousands of cash prizes will be given away daily to lucky viewers, who also get the chance to win one million pesos in cash everyday.
San Miguel Beer patrons may also win from other Oktoberfest activities. SMB will be conducting house-to-house raids, bar tours and a crown collection promo nationwide where consumers can also win cool premium collectible items.
Of course, San Miguel Beer Oktoberfest will not be complete without its trademark SMB street parties over flowing with the hottest entertainment. Around 30 parties will be thrown to key cities and regions nationwide, kicking off in September 4 in San Miguel Avenue, Mandaluyong City, and September 5 in Ever Gotesco Commonwealth, Quezon City, Plaza Burgos, Vigan City, Ilocos, Paseo de Sta. Rosa, Sta. Rosa, Laguna and NHA Kauswagan, Cagayan de Oro City to name a few.

Hi, I am currently in Munich, Germany where the Original Oktoberfest ist held. It had actually already started last September 19 and will run until October 4. I visited the Fest site and it was awsome! But the main reason I was there was to see if San Miguel was exhibiting or maybe even just covering the event :-). Unfortunately, the event is limited to local breweries, even Deutsch breweries not from Munich are restricted. Deutsch Beer tastes really good but i still miss San Miguel!
I’ve never tried Deutsch beer or a lot of other beers from abroad for that matter, so I really wouldn’t have anything to compare San Miguel to. But I have heard it’s one of the best ones around.
Thanks for stopping by!
